Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) is defined as a form of experiential psychotherapy that includes equine(s). It may include, but is not limited to, a number of mutually beneficial equine activities such as handling, grooming, longeing, riding, driving, and vaulting. Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy is a treatment approach within the classification of Equine Assisted Therapy that provides the client with opportunities to enhance self-awareness and re-pattern maladaptive behaviors, feelings and attitudes. (EFMA fact sheet, 2006)

EFP is an experiential treatment approach that provides the individual with opportunities to enhance self-awareness and repattern maladaptive behaviors, feelings, and attitudes.
Leslie offers comprehensive psychotherapy for children, teens and young adults. In order to provide each youth with an individualized program, Leslie will utilize cognitive, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, reality therapy, art, relaxation, experiential and equine-facilitated interventions. Kids will talk and allow themselves to feel when moving, breathing and relating ~ there's not much "sitting around" and talking about things going on around here!
Leslie typically has appointments Tuesday through Thursday and on Saturdays. This is subject to change based on time of year and amount of clients attending treatment.
Schedules may also change due to inclimate weather, holidays, and school vacations.
